This fish is quite real, a BBC documentary covered a young male who had special surgery done to save his life. There was also a National Geographic show dedicated to this 'fish'.

Having served in the U.S. Army in Panama (when we controlled the Panama Canal) it was commonly known about even there, despite it not being that close to Brazil.

The Vampire Fish or Candirú or Canero (Vandellia cirrhosa) is a freshwater fish belonging to the Catfish group. The species grows only to being one to two inches in length and four to six millimeters wide. Its amazing.I want to ask you a question that Is this fish harm full for humans? If yes then We should kill all Vampire Fishes.
