Carbon has a long residence time in the atmosphere, so the rate of addition of carbon each year due to humans does not have to be that high in order to have an impact. All it needs to do is change the system so that more carbon is added to the atmospheric pool than is removed from it each year. It's just a matter of tipping the scales... and the additional carbon added to the atmosphere also makes the ocean more acidic, which leads to fun things like coral bleaching and other adverse impacts on our world's oceans. Even without global warming, the threat to the ocean ecosystem is still significant.

a recent paper showed that carbon levels rise and fall in the atomsphere all the time (shown by core samples from ice that dates back to before the industrial revolution), and the world is currently on a general rise. However, emissions aren't helping, but there actually affect on the carbon levels is miminal.

But it is important to aim to reduce emission levels if only because of the chemicals added to the air that people have to breathe.

^accuracy in reasoning and knowledge of the facts and their ratio

global warming doesnt has to be proved , noone in their right mind is questioning that its happening, what you may want to say is the cause of global warming has not been proved, wich is defendable for now.altough... a majority of knowlegable people believe it has a strong correlation with co2 levels wich we raised by bringing vast amounts of carbon to the surface of the earth.
its pretty much like a smoking gun in a locked room, with only one person present
it may have gone off by itself, but not very likely

"telling the EPA that unless it determines that global warming causes no harm, it must begin regulating CO2 emissions." Global warming is yet to be "proved" and yet these people can beg the question to pass a law controlling emissions.. am I missing something?

Thank God for global warming! The mile thick ice sheet that used to sit on top of where my town is, melted and went away. I don't know what I'd do if it were still there!
